MAURA SHAWN SCANLIN
Maura Shawn Scanlin is a multi-genre violinist born in Boone, NC. She holds a Masters degree in Violin Performance from the Yale School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, and has studied with renowned chamber musicians such as Lucy Chapman, the Borromeo String Quartet, Kim Kashkashian, Roger Tapping, and members of the Brentano String Quartet.
Maura is also well-versed in a variety of non-classical styles from traditional folk music to more contemporary improvisatory music. Proficient in Irish and Scottish fiddle music, Maura has competed in the world’s premiere Scottish fiddling competitions. She is a two-time U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, and has won the Glenfiddich Fiddle Competition in Perthshire, Scotland. Maura plays a 1923 Ernst Heinrich Roth violin, made in Germany.
CONOR HEARN
Conor Hearn is a stylistically diverse guitar player who specializes in accompaniment of traditional Irish and Scottish fiddle playing. Hailing from the Irish music communities of Washington D.C. and Maryland, Conor grew up playing fiddle and guitar in traditional Irish music sessions, and as a professional guitar player he lends his innovative rhythmic skills to the panoply of groups and projects in the Boston folk music scene.
He has performed on programs such as Brian O'Donovan's Celtic Sojourn and taught guitar at music festivals such as Alasdair Fraser's Sierra Fiddle Camp, while establishing himself as a cutting-edge Scottish and Irish player with groups like Soulsha, The Galen Fraser Quartet, TriHearn, and Pumpkin Bread.
DARBY WAGNER
Darby Mae Wagner is a Brooklyn-based writer, creative producer, and sommelière with several years of experience in the creative + hospitality sectors. In june of 2021, she launched GNOSES [noh-siz], a liminal and cyclical space - and roving arthaus - she describes as "the 'hypgnostic' interplay between cultures at large, the human spirit and the natural world," with the first event taking place on the rooftop of Sitopia in Mexico City. Exploratory and collaborative, GNOSES celebrates community, ancestral traditions, and local activism through the creation of intimate, artistic and epicurean experiences.
Zacarías González
A chef and multi-disciplinary artist from the Cuban diaspora, Zacarías González is the founder of Ediciones, a New York based studio + experimental lab cultivating relationships with agricultural systems and community. Their focus is bringing people together through food, culture, and design. Ediciones produces projects that focus on future food systems, the social and environmental impacts of industrialized food, and envisioning ways to create community.
Some of their recent works have been with MoMA, MoMa PS1, Pioneer Works, Sky High Farm, and Vogue México y Latinoamérica. In 2022, they were recognized by The World’s 50 Next Chefs and the Basque Culinary Center for their work in changing the future of gastronomy.
